Strong People Lift Others Up

Sal Chavez is a Marine vet and head coach at Lead the Way Fitness, “home of the total body transformation program.” I attended a Monrovia Chamber ribbon cutting at his workout studio a couple of months ago, and I was impressed with his philosophy. He talked to us about eating and exercise, but not in a way I was familiar with. Stuff like eating a wide variety of COLORS of food. Simple, but often overlooked. Clients show up as early as 530am for workouts and motivation with coaches like Briley, the guy in the “Strong People Lift Others Up” t-shirt. The workouts are roughly thirty minutes long, with weights and stretching and plenty of movement. Briley is constantly on the move, encouraging his trainees as they push themselves through each activity. The students were mostly women, and the vibe was comfortable and friendly, everybody having a great time.

I keep coming back to “strong people lift others up.” I’ve had more than my fair share of great coaches, like Coach Kemp, who derailed my train to hell back in high school. I didn’t appreciate him at the time, but I got to thank him in person thirty-five years later. Coach Bush, my cross-country and track coach, who believed in and pushed me to go beyond what I thought I was capable of. Nowadays, my coaches push me to “move the train” of my business. That’s YOU, Dena Patton, my sales/marketing coach, and YOU, Tim Taylor, my IT coach. You both exemplify “strong people lift others up.”

Do you work with any coaches in the gym or in your business? Are you a coach, lifting others up? Seems we can all be “leading the way,” like Sal Chavez. Are you up for the challenge?

Musical Moment

Do you have a mission in life? Maybe it’s to get through today or some difficult situation that’s got you tied up in knots. Maybe it’s to become the ultimate professional in whatever you do. Maybe you’re striving to be a great mom or dad, or get to the gym three times a week. Mine is to live large, be bold, have faith, and fear nothing. I’m not that good at it, but every time I fall, I get back up and plod on. We all do. We’re not quitters, we’re figure it outers. Heck, “you can figure out anything if you want it bad enough.”

Get Out on the Dance Floor!

Twice a month, the Alignable Alliance of the Foothills hosts an online workshop to help you grow your business. On Monday, July 11, at 8am, we’re going to consider how consistency is a key to successful networking. We've got to show up to the dance so that our prospective referral partners get to know us and learn the best ways to help us.

In this workshop, we're going to answer the following question: how do I identify a great referral partner?

Put on your dancing shoes and join us!
