Timothy and Ilene’s Excellent Wedding Adventure

That hat. I mean, come on, that hat is where it’s at. And little Evalina, she’s like the “where isn’t Waldo” of these 2000+ wedding pics. Sweetheart. When my friend Rob Wilson (“Mr Wilson”) asked if I’d shoot the wedding reception, of course I would. Just had to work out the details with Rob’s wife Pauline, mother of the bride. Easy. Somehow, it slipped my information gathering abilities to learn that it was not just a reception, but an actual wedding. No big deal. Forty guests, approximately. An hour away from home base, out in Riverside. I like Riverside. It feels so far away, but not really. Reminds me of our trips to Desert Hot Springs when I was a kid, stopping at Griswold’s smorgasbord on the way home. And now Timothy and Ilene’s wedding. I only had the briefest of conversations with Timothy. I learned he’s a trucker, and a prayer warrior. He sports a lot of tattoos, strikes me as a solid guy who’s got your back.

I barely ever shoot weddings. They’ve got a scary reputation. But every time I do one, I make friends. I feel like part of the family. Makes me want to do more.
