Biographical Sketch

Sgt. Nickolas Orozco serves on the Black Team as a Demonstration Parachutist for the U.S. Army Parachute Team.

Orozco enlisted in the Army in 2014. He attended basic training in Fort Jackson, SC and advanced individual training in Fort Lee, Va. to become an 92R, Parachute Rigger. His previous duty stations include Fort Benning, Ga., Camp Humphreys, South Korea., and Fort Bragg NC.

He has served as a Parachute Rigger until attending the rigorous Golden Knight Assessment and Selection Program for the United States Army Parachute Team in April 2021.

Orozco has been awarded Army Commendation Medal -2OLC, Army Achievement Medal -3OLC, Joint Services Medal, Parachute Rigger Badge, and the Military Freefall Parachutist Badge.

Since his first free-fall jump in 2016, Orozco has logged more than 1,075 free-fall parachute jumps and earned the Accelerated Freefall Instructor Rating.

In his free time, Orozco enjoys hiking, skydiving, sewing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
