Biographical Sketch
Staff Sgt. Nahu Ramirez serves on the Black Team as a Demonstration Parachutist for the U.S. Army Parachute Team.
Ramirez enlisted in the Army in 2014. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and advanced individual training at Fort Lee, Virginia to become a wheeled vehicle mechanic. His previous duty stations include Fort Carson, Colorado, Camp Humphreys, South Korea., and Fort Hood, Texas. He served a one year tour in Kabul, Afghanistan.
He has served as a Maintenance advisor until attending the rigorous Golden Knight Assessment and Selection Program for the United States Army Parachute Team in September 2021.
Ramirez has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Air Asault Badge, and the Expert Soldier Badge.
Since his first free-fall jump in 2020, Ramirez has logged more than 324 free-fall parachute jumps.
In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, auto maintenance and spending time with family.
