She posed for me at the Manhattan Vintage show. Might even have given me her card, but it's vanished. Her name? I don't recall. She has a 626 area code, an ambitious, energetic young woman making her way in NYC, originally from very close to where we live. She makes funny faces and gazes into the mirror. This was the day before Streets of NY with Hugh and Claudia Brownstone. We landed in Newark, made our way to the Bowery, and suddenly, I knew exactly what to do. Go right up to people and ask them if they'd like to make some pictures. Most of the time, they say "yes."
