Anywhere, Anytime
I’m sitting on the couch at Diana's house, as Diana and Penny make a puzzle and watch the girl version of Ghostbusters. I've got Airpod Max’s on, listening to nothing but noise cancelation. Unable to get into my comfort zone, in which I can knock off projects like nobody's business. Anywhere, anytime. Everything’s off. I've got my tools: computer, internet. My belly’s full from Jim's spectacular vegetable soup with the corn in it. Wow! Toast. A cookie. Ice water.
My legs aren’t long enough and therefore don't bend at the right place for this couch. That's only part of the problem. No matter where I sit, I can't get comfortable. Glare on the screen. Capital letters. Words getting stuck.
We're blessed with tools that allow us to work anywhere, anytime. Our books, files, and photos follow us, like clouds. Everything works.
Sometimes, when everything else falls into place, we still need our old familiar desk and chair, the dogs and cats, and Penny watching Project Runway. Noise canceling headphones can't cancel the noise within.
